
Resolution Supporting the NHBCUAAF–GDN Global Partnership as a Pathway for HBCU Alumni Leadership and Student Advancement
WHEREAS, Historically Black Colleges and Universities have educated generations of Black leaders, professionals, entrepreneurs, educators, public servants, journalists, clergy, scientists, and community advocates; and
WHEREAS, HBCU alumni associations play a vital role in sustaining institutional pride, supporting student success, promoting alumni engagement, raising funds, mentoring students, and protecting the legacy and future of HBCUs; and
WHEREAS, the National Historically Black Colleges & Universities Alumni Associations Foundation, known as NHBCUAAF, exists to strengthen HBCU alumni associations and advance the collective influence of HBCU alumni networks; and
WHEREAS, GDN Global is developing a media, public education, student engagement, and policy platform focused on The Economic Liberation of Africa, the AU Sixth Region, RoFR education, diaspora engagement, and Black global economic participation; and
WHEREAS, the NHBCUAAF–GDN Global partnership seeks to connect HBCU students and alumni to leadership development, internships, mentorship, media visibility, civic education, workforce pathways, and Africa-centered economic engagement; and
WHEREAS, HBCU alumni associations are uniquely positioned to help students move from campus participation to career readiness, civic leadership, institutional service, and global Black economic awareness; and
WHEREAS, alumni associations can help support this partnership by promoting student internships, identifying mentors, sharing campaign materials, hosting briefings, encouraging donations, and strengthening public awareness; and
WHEREAS, the AU Sixth Region and RoFR frameworks offer important opportunities for HBCU students and alumni to study and engage questions of policy, procurement, entrepreneurship, media, law, trade, development, and diaspora participation;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the __________________________ Alumni Association endorses the mission of the NHBCUAAF–GDN Global partnership as a meaningful vehicle for advancing HBCU student leadership, alumni engagement, workforce preparation, media visibility, and Black global economic participation.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this association encourages its members, chapters, students, alumni, and supporters to learn about the partnership and consider ways to participate through mentorship, internships, sponsorship, public education, fundraising, and partnership-building.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this association supports efforts to connect HBCU students and alumni to The Economic Liberation of Africa, the AU Sixth Region, RoFR education, and global Black economic leadership.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this association authorizes its name to be listed as an endorsing supporter of the NHBCUAAF–GDN Global partnership, subject to any internal approval requirements of this association.
